  • Domain / Category — The audience or lens (for example, Engineering Leadership). Shapes examples.
  • Brief — Short phrases for audience, outcome, tone, and must-haves.

Outlines & drafts

  • TOC — Your chapter titles and summaries. Approve to unlock drafting. TOC generation is free.
  • Draft states — Edited (your text), Approved (applied), Published (final), Empty (no content).
  • Snippets — Highlight text to mark what to Love, Keep, or Change.

Credits & usage

  • Credits — Your account balance for GhostWriter. 1 credit = 1 chapter draft. 3 credits = 1 EPUB export. Credits work across all your books and never expire.
  • Jobs — Tasks like “Generate Chapter,” with simple statuses (queued, running, succeeded, failed).
  • Failed job refund — If a draft fails, your credit is automatically returned.
